No.0098 The Horror Post 4 Polaroid

The Horror Postの第4回目です!!

Does it make you want to see it? Alright so here I am reminded of a Thai horror film called Shutter. There was an American remake for it as well, and well Polaroid may just be in the same vein. There’s nothing much to the poster but sometimes that’s a good thing. The background is black which sets the mood. A polaroid cam is either sitting on a wooden surface or quite possibly floating above it. The photo is half way out, and the rest is up to your imagination. So does the poster make me want to see it? It kind of does.. If it is anything like the original Shutter, I’ll most likely get freaked out.

Does it make you want to see it? I used to get so excited seeing the Dimension Films logo at the near beginning of a trailer. That was during the mid 90s when Scream reinvented the horror genre and the Weinsteins were financing some pretty neat flicks under their brand. Polaroid looks thrilling enough with that Final Destination/Ring kind of feel to it. Hopefully the trailer didn’t give too much away for moviegoers to figure out the whole premise and ending to this picture before dropping 15 bucks on it at the theater. So does the trailer make me want to see it? Sure, mildly it does.. I think it’s safe to say that Polaroid is aiming to develop a bunch of “boo” scares.
